I just spoke to someone from the Vereeniging area and he tells me there has been a bit a rain, but not a hellavo lot. I see the clouds are packing in from the west here now and if it continues it's course, will probably dump some wetness in the direction of Sasol and if it over shoots, onto Basslake.

Lol, I have not problem with mud, but I am going to be missing my KL71's if it is wet..... Ok, I am already missing my KL71's  , even just driving on tar those things gave me better handling than my ATX's...

I'm off, going home, Cya in the morning.

for the people who want some of this flex magnet, I will pick it up tomorrow, but you will have to cut to the individual sizes on Sat am, so bring a carpet knife and something straight like a ruler or piece of flatbar. :mytwocents:

"By the way ... if one wants one can get magnetic stuff to stick the stickers on your car. then easily taken off afterwards.
The stuff costs about R100 /m2. Put your name down if you would be interested, and if we can get 13 people, we can just get a roll at R80/m2."

One would also like to have some magnetic stuff for one to use. One really hates it when one has to stick all manner of stuff on one's paint work! :king:

Start at 07h00
Prize giving start at about 17:30
Finish at 19h00

Voucher for a Borrie roll and a soft drink for the driver, co driver and passengers -Lunch?
The family that may spend the day at the lake, swim, hire 1 man or 2 man kayaks for, if I'm nor mistaken R 25 (single kayak) or R35 (double kayak) - close to 4x4 track?
The restaurant is fantastic

This is going to be a long day as well - so a few questions :helpsign:

1. What time does the actual competition start?
2. Are we going to do something for breakfast? (07h00 to kick off...)
3. Is the restaurant close to the 4x4 track?
4. Will there be food and drink stalls?
5. What are we doing for dinner - braai?

6. Anybody's kids coming along?

Bass Lake enterance gate will open at 06h30
1. What time does the actual competition start?
It start the first obstacle at 08h00 but for that you need to be at the the restaurant area before 07h30 because then you need to go to the training center to fill in the forms, get the scrutineering done and leave to be at the first obstacle at 08h00. Next vehicles will be every 10 minutes.
2. Are we going to do something for breakfast?
The restaurant is available at the dam where you can get something to eat.
3. Is the restaurant close to the 4x4 track?
You will not be able to get to the restaurant while you are busy doing the track- only before or afterwards.
4. Will there be food and drink stalls?
It will be at the restaurant.
5. What are we doing for dinner - braai?
We can have a bring and braai - the braai area is next to the restaurant
6. Anybody's kids coming along?
Yes they can be there but if they are in your vehicle while doing the track they must have safetybelts on.

Just another thing!! :oldtimer:

The TV guys will be there the whole day as well and we may only drink alcohol after the prizegiving event - should be at 17h00 if everybody finished the track - a cash bar will be available at the hall of the prizegiving.

It does seem that the restaurant is not close to the track so it seems that it would be better to be self sufficient for the duration of the day

Will pack something for brekkie then as we might not have time to prepare when there.

Having to leave home at around 06h00 and onle getting back at 20h00 (14h day) - me thinks the kids might be better of staying home... will leave it up to them.

Will bring the braai-vleis for a braai afterwards - QQQ

Now to try and convince the wife to be Nav for the day

I'm also looking at the timing, will have to be out of the house by no later than 6. These early mornings are murder for me, I am only up at 8:30 on "normal" early morning here.
