Thanks for the replies and the offer!
I am in Hoedspruit, that is quite a way from Randburg.
I‘ll try the twin cable variant and post an update here.
But it will take some time, won‘t be in SA until mkd September.
Best regards,
Florian

A little update:
I got another motor, checked the current and saw that the passengers' side motor took about 2 amps more than the drivers side.
The cleaning / change of the switches definitely gave the biggest change. The other motor was more or less similar to my existing one, so the fault must be the switch(es).
If I understood the electrical wiring diagrams correctly, the current always goes through both switches (drivers plus respective passenger switch) if you don't attach the cable directly to the battery as recommended by Peter.
I now decided to get all four door switches new as they where comparably cheap at partsouq.
So I will renew all switches hopefully in about a month and then post an update.

Update: all for switches are factory new now but the windows still runs a bit slow.
My last idea is that the workshop did damage the cables when they worked on it.
They actually cut them and put them back together by mistake - so maybe the joint is not so good and the current can't run there as it should.
Eventually I will check that but it might take some time.

Never lubricate window rubbers by spraying on silicone, it will attract dust and dries out over time, causing it to move with even greater difficulty.
Get a small bottle of graphite powder at Builders Warehouse in the lock department. The bottles contain about 50ml of graphite and is made from softish plastic allowing you to puff the powder into the runner.
Locks should also only ever be lubricated with dry graphite powder.
