Go to Steelite at 203 Booysens Road in Selby Jhb, they will make up a decent towbar.

They make up custom made towbars for any vehicle and they are one of a very few independent towbar manufacturers who have SABS certification to manufacture towbars.

If you come up Booysens Road, from Booysens into town, they are on the left hand side, once over the railway bridge and after the first traffic light once over the bridge.

Thanks Malcolm, I did send them a query through their website on Monday, maybe I need to follow up with the good old telephone.

I actually sent queries to 7 or 8 places through their websites, and only 2 have replied. I thought people were desperate for business.......

I had a 2007 4.8 GRX to which I fitted a Bosal towbar that I bought from Nissan. It was quite a job to install as I needed to drill holes and add some supplied stiffner tubes inside the chassis rails. I was very happy with that and sold the ‘trol with that in 2018.... My new 2018 GRX needed a towbar, spoke to Nissan and they now know nothing of the previous type, offered me the type discussed in this thread. No thanks! So still without a towbar.

Does anyone know the Bosal that I refer to, are they discontinued? Why?

I went to Steelite and they built a towbar for me. It attaches under the bumper to the chassis rails AND to the recovery point on the back. So three points of attachment and they reckon it will tow as much as the patrol can handle. Not the prettiest construction but seems very solid! Charged me R3900 which I think is pretty reasonable.

That's exactly what I was trying to suggest earlier.
