Empty engine bay
Tinus..... :oldtimer:

I don't suppose that 4.8 engine would bolt directly into a 4.5 manual by any chance

Asking for a friend... :rolling: :rolling: :rolling:
it bolts straight on but .........etc........etc........

Hi Tunja,

Mechanically everything fits no problem.
Electronically it is a nightmare. Your 4.8 ECU has about 200 wires looking for a “home” as it seeks information on various sensors, not to mention the tiptronic gearbox.

I have a 4.8 bolted onto what was originally a GQ TB42 (Skilpad). There will be a thread on what we have done soon, by people much more knowledgeable than me. Save to say I think we have finally got the right solution to make it a reliable set-up.

Watch this space...

Why are you replacing the 4.8 with the Cummins Tinus?

Is the old motor and gearbox for sale perhaps??

Hi Alex, I've read with other conversions "Spitronics" was the way forward? Don't see the point in trying to sort out signals from a nonexistant auto box when a manual box would be fitted?
