Peter Connan has a good memory.

I think I fixed Tinus' clock spring. I also repaired my own before that. Give me a shout if you need help Malcolm

Hi Anthony and Paul,

My big problem is to remove the steering wheel cover. It has been taken off 5 times now, and it takes more than an hour every time and the hole on the back part of the steering wheel (where you unclip the front part through) is looking much worse for wear now and I will not have the patience to remove it. The Pathfinder is different to the Patrol in the way it is removed, although I must say I have never taken the Patrol's steering cover off.

If I can get help to remove that, I think the rest will be easy. I do have the American sourced clock spring, so there is a brand new ribbon cable that I can remove and fit it fairly easily (I think/hope). I will just have to take the one in the cupboard and have a good  look to see how to remove the ribbon cable (if t CAN be removed).

I just had a look at the one in the cupboard.

It does not have a visible ribbon cable, so it looks like one will have to repaid the one currently in the vehicle!

I only remember because this was the first time i had ever heard of a clock spring. Every car I have ever owned only had a hooter on the steering wheel...

:goodpost: (THREAD)

This worked a treat on my Td42 this morning.

I did a day out on rough dirt tracks & mielie fields yesterday & a few things under the passenger seat bounced around a bit giving me the flashing airbag light...

Once again the forum comes to the rescue!

Michael wrote:If you need to reset the airbag light on your GU 4.8 facelift (not sure if preface is the same) then do as follow

1. Get inside the car and with driver door closed switch on the ignition. The airbag light will be illumenated.
2. As soon as the light goes out to start the error blinking you turn off the ignition.
3. Switch the ignition on again and repeat prosedure 2 another 3 times. You need to do this a total of 4 times.
4. Once done, remove the key, insert it again and start the vehicle.
5. Airbag light should be reset now.

Youtube link of the prosedure done on a 350z, but it works the same on the Patrol.

I have tested this on my friends 4.8 which had an airbag light burning...... works for sure.
Ha, this worked a treat. Thanks so much for the info.
