Does this mean that the car will now be a Code 2 [or 3] on registration? If one buys it from the insurance

No Airbags did not delpoy.

If you buy direct from Insurance it will remain a code 2 as I understand.
Because it has not gone to Salvage

Insurance would consider less than the 79 k they are asking for.

I don't have the time or the skill-set to fix it on my own and there is no guarantee that any panel-beater will do it right first time.

However, everything on the car is 100 % besides body panels.

Insurance writes off at 50 % of value and being a 2008 stood against me.

Guys any opinions on the price for the 2017 model with 29000 km?

Its a lot of money yes, for me anyway, but is it a no brainer or would I be paying too much?

Since the buy-back is less than you spent on the blower, i would recommend buying it yourself, swopping motors and then selling the motor from the new car. You should get at least half the buy-back...
