Nissan Patrol 4x4 (Africa)

The fuel consumption has been debated to death but as soon as you do the sums for total cost of ownership it is a no brainer.

I use mine as a daily driver (average 2 500 km per month) and need to keep very accurate records for tax. I have done the sums many times (normally after filling up) and as soon as I take insurance and payments into account on a more modern TD bakkie the Patrol is still substantially cheaper.

Lots of spare money available for upgrades

I am paying a similar premium as David and I also have no excess included in the premium.

Good question George, I will speak to my broker and check this, but to be honest I dont think it includes it on my policy.
