The 4.2TDI with ecu and egr is actually something interesting and sounds like its also mixed and matched.
I am working an a factory turbo'd TD42 bakkie which has EGR, but still a manual pump......no ECU.
Here in PTA it will set you back R6,800 to do a pump mod for the boost compensator and to recon the pump

Yes Cedric I have also heard this. Unsure how exactly the EGR works on them, but seems similar to the system used on the 3.0

Me thinks a aneriod on pump and block off the egr then you are back to where you want to be ....there is a easy way to do the auto box frans told me becouse he did biggels one that used to belong to Pieter ....but manual box is avalable also....those are low mileage eskom bakkies motors will be good and it comes with extchange policy

Would be beter if i repair the current engine would like to keep the Patrol standard .
Wil just need to find someone capable repairing the engine .
