Thanks gents, this forum has seen it all! I managed to pickup a scrapped Nissan Australia tow bar. Has a flat 7 pin female socket as well for the trailer lights :blonde:
I am sure that it is not made by Nissan, but OEMed to Nissan Australia by tow bar manufacturer.

Anyhow I picked up some 10.9 and 8.8 bolts to suit, and the dismantling of the rear bumper begins tonight.

Edit, I need to have some load plates made up, just called my warehouse in charge to trundle down to the metal works for some plates that someone measured up from Nissan's part department in Aus.

25mm X 350mm X 3mm with a high tensile bolt welded on, this is what is pushed into the furthest bolt hole, the rest have holes up throught the chasis box section and I am using that.

Tinus what was he towing to get that much damage, and after how long towing did he get that. All the patrols, y60, y61 and y62 and also the land cruisers tow off the pintle hook location. Here in middle east all y60, y61 and LC80, LC100 LC200 come with pintle hooks, which are replaced with towball attachments to tow quads, bikes, razors, boats, race cars etc, I wonder how many end up failing.

Have a look at the tow ball there is a bit of a drop to get trailer or caravan level . It becomes a big lever on the welding and all the pushing and pulling takes its toll eventually. The problem seems to be the drop plate on the Y61 but i will wait for Piet to give you the correct tech detail

That was from towing a off road caravan . What amazed me the most is that its the only tow bar avalable form the stealers and its only rated at 1300kg i talk under correction. The 4.8 can pull a bit more legally just dont do it with the towbar provided for the job....
Also the 30l i just dont know anymore. ....

I uploaded a pic of the camper trailer. Similar to this here..

It can have total loaded weight of 750kg. It will be over mountain tracks, desert tracks, not large dunes, and rocky river beds.
