Do you have the VIN "F" or L65 series from Detroit Diesel? Some of them came out with retarder/engine brake / exhaust brake, but AFAIK not on the Suburbans. That would be a nice to have on a 4x4, and it should not be that difficult to retrofit.

Re. the 4.5, a key consideration will be the km's clocked, can you shed light on this?

Regards

Marnus
Pretty sure its Vin F, no engine break .. .. will pm u about the 4.5

Nice pics Mark.... like looking at naughty magazines....... :rolling: :rolling: :rolling:

If you get a chance, start a new thread about your 4.2 diesel and tell us what you have done, and how it drove with the 37's and 35's etc. I think that would be a VERY interesting read!!!

And as we always say.... Real trucks don't have spark plugs !!! :rolling: :rolling:

If its water overheating, then a bigger radiator is the way to go or the water bypass system that Tour de Frans (Frans ) who is in the Belville area, will be able to assist you on there. I have a bigger radiator ( almost twice as thick ) and that works brilliantly .... No overheating even in high temps pushing high EGT's in the patrol up long hills.
