Re: Fuel Pump Replacement
Yes the first image is the before and yes it was aftermarket. Walbro GSS250. From the info I could find it is a 190 lph pump. Not sure what pressure it is rated at.

Re: Fuel Pump Replacement
Ok so I took a drive last night and on the initial pull away I could already feel improved performance, but then at half footed acceleration there is still a slump between 2 and 3000RPM. I replaced the fuel filter along with the pump incase anyone was wondering.
There is a K&N air filter in the car and I fortunately still had a service kit at home so decided to clean what was actually quite a congested filter. I re-fitted it to the car early this morning and when I went for a test drive it was like getting into a brand new vehicle. Increased power and smooth acceleration through the rev range. I have serviced the air filter on a previous occasion when I was trying to solve the issue which had no results so the fuel pump did make the change it was just masked by the air filter this time around.
With all this having had changed since the last time when the car was on a Dyno, while suffering a fuel pressure issue, i'd imagine it's gotta go back again to ensure the mapping is done optimally. I also ordered new Air Filter from the stealers which is due tomorrow as the K&N does not look like it is gonna go much further.

Re: Fuel Pump Replacement
If I look at your profile pic..... a K&N is NOT the best option at all !!!!!!!!!..... especially if you do not have a snorkel. I have a K&N filter for my Diesel, and yes she pulls much better with it in..... but can allow much larger dirt particles in through the filter medium.
The K&N is only for emergencies..... or if its a long tar road, like driving down to the Cape, but definitely not dusty sand roads

Re: Fuel Pump Replacement
Sorry jumping in late on the chat, if you are going to PTA why not swing past Graham and let him put his computer on your troll, I went the route of a new pump filters , even a snorkel and yes it was a bit better but still lacked power, to it to Graham and he put it on his computer and half the setting where out ( eg showing 1/4 throttle when my foot was flat ( computer not delivering enough fuel, not the fuel pump). Give him a try you will not be sorry

Re: Fuel Pump Replacement
Hehe. Yes Ricster agreed on the filter. I have ordered a new nissan filter and should recieve it today as I am not keen on the K&N myself. It was what I got when I bought the car.
Ian I am in CPT so wont be making it to there but yes even though it now performes much better I will be getting the mappings corrected next week to ensure I get the most out of the new found potential
