Oh and sorry - one last thing.

It is not an aftermarket turbo on the engine - it is an imported 4.2 TD Safari engine I bought from engines for Africa in Jhb - it is a factory standard turbo engine. And we (me and Frans) did a complete rebuild of the engine to ensure everything is in tip top order when the conversion was done. The only thing we did not replace was the pistons itself as there where absolutely nothing wrong with them and no need to have them replaced. Water pump, bearings (big ends and mains), rings, etc etc. We even took the turbo off and had it serviced and checked out by Turbo Master. It was also a 24V engine which we converted back to 12v - so everything in terms of starter, aircon pump, altenator, glow plugs, etc was added brand new. The conversion was done on +- 145000km if I am not mistaken. In fact somewhere on this forum you will find a complete write up (it was under the heading "Project TD42T") I did about the whole conversion and everything we did. It has a Madman EMS system in it (from the first kilometer) that not only monitors EGT's but water temp, water level, oil temp, oil pressure, boost, water level, battery level, etc etc.

Up to the point where I sold it it was maintained with great care and exact service intervals of 5000 km's.

I had a huge knock in my business and was forced to sell my "toys" - which was my Patrol and Jurgens Explorer caravan.

For more info you most welcome to contact me.

Regards

I cannot describe to you how hurtful it was to drive past that car standing next to the road on a daily basis - it is on my route from home to work and back - so every day Mon - Fri and even weekends I had to face that. I noticed it was gone late last week so I took it the guy found a buyer.

I was actually considering buying it back ( not that my financial situation is that great yet) - but after stopping at the Patrol one day and noticing what was gone and removed I got so angry I decided there and then not a change in hell. Not for the price he wanted, what was gone and what I sold it to him for.

So perhaps he should have considered contacting me first before he started "stripping" the extras from the Patrol - bad luck for him.

One day soon I will be driving another Patrol......................

Is that what they refer to as the " silver top" 4.2 ???
If so BUY IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! those motors are as scarce as a great white shark without front teeth!!! and they are designed for the turbo !!!!

I definitely feel for you, I read a lot your posts and got a feeling for how much you cared about Mufasa.

Anyway lets see how it goes. I am actually in the Philippines but my dad is talking to the guy now and seeing how honest he is. I am definitely not up to the current asking price as it is a conversion (no offense Pieter, but at the end of the day...)

Not negotiable and claims to have proven receipts that the conversion was done by Nissan. Pity.

Steve

I sent you a pm as well.

What is the guys asking price and what is his name?? PM me please.

I get the feeling somebody else is trying to sell the car on his behalf - maybe that's why it is so "not negotiable".

Let me know please.
