man all you need is a cable tie .....he says you cant break it other than butterfly screws dropping into inlet like jacobez 4.8 did but it happens rarely

I had the PVA and cruise control mods done this week by my mechanic ,it was a simple job that has brought out the best. He followed the instructions on the Aussie site
The response is way better from low revs and when doing 110kph on hills you are not kicking it down all the time the extra power
that is there is brilliant. The overall performance and driveabilty has been greatly improved.Fuel consumption details will follow.
I would not hesitate to do this mod.The Aussies cant be wrong all the time.
The cruise control works brilliantly you put it in manual mode set the cruise and the you can change up or down without a problem
Tinus thanks for all your help I now have a proper Patrol

I did the mod nearly 18 months ago, at the time i noticed a definate improvement in the initial power/torque available - which is crucial when trying to handle a large boat on the beach for example.
My initial test I did that convinced me was reversing up to a curb in 2H, and then from a stop try reversing over the curb - it really struggled! with the mod it seemed a whole lot easier to get over the lip.
I would not change back unless someone can show that it is detrimental in other ways.
Try it out - it cant hurt! ... and then post your assessment of it. Very simple to demod too.

graham says that we are happy with it in the open posison it will be better to remove the butterfly and screws just leave the shaft .....in he full open it vibrates a lot and can come loose like jacobez one did

Tinus, when the mod is done the butterfly is actually closed... you can't remove it

I have the instructions from the AUSSIE forum, but there is no pictures? Is there one available with pictures so I dont tune the wrong thing?
After seeing this picture......I had a very different view to what it should look like.

Jacques, the picture above is from the Aussie forum but they actually removed part of the intake which is not necessary.

Thank you David,
The arm I see on the right? Was that connected to the part that should be cable tied? Just unclip and leave it there?

Right, so if it CLOSES the valve, what's really happening?
