Rick, it is a mighty pretty area, you're right.
We have quite a lot of equipment in your plant, I have been there a couple of times.

Rick how do you find the 4.2 Patrol in relation to your 100series?... Surely the Patrol would be very frustrating on the road in comparison to that 1HD FTE motor in the 100... or was your the 105 with 1HZ motor?

Russ - mine was a 100 series basic - the type the UN and their lot use. Basically the pick-up specs with the 100 series body. It as very basic - hand winding windows, no central locking etc, but at least had aircon! The engine was the 1Hz so same power as the pick-ups. A friedn of mine had an older 4.2D Nissan and I must say subjectively it was slower than my Landcruiser up the hills - this is a relative term though because the L/C was no ball of fire either. He eventually installed a turbo on it in Jhb, but even then is did not make a huge difference. My "new" one is no great shakes but once it is up to speed seems to keep there unless the hills are really steep. The only place the big wagons with non-turbo motors are really awful to drive is in town - I tend to park it and borrow the wifes nippy runabout.
