Nissan SA

Ordered a hydrolic hose connecting the clutch master cylinder with the clutch slave cylinder.
Exact same part as used by the 2009 Patrol 4.8 GL and there is none in SA.

OK so they ordered it on 19 Aug 2009 as an emergency order. Enquired today only to be told it will be here on 15 November. NOVEMBER
Emergency parts mean the car can still drive and as such they send it with normal shipments, in other words when the container is full.

It has been placed on VOR, what the heck that ever means and will now be here in 10 working days time.

What I dont understand is:
1. How can a car run without a clutch. Have you ever tried changing gears in a Patrol without clutch while it is running - Good luck
2. Since the same part has been used for the last 15 years how is it possible that there is none in the country.
3. What selfrespect does any Nissan SA exec have when they dont carry parts for their flagship product?

Rant over, I shouted a bit at the Dealer Principle not that he can do much but I feel better.

Ok guys

Let's see now. Who has family in Australia or knows friends there? I think we must try build a good relationship with someone there and then get them to send us parts and kit. I've got an uncle in Perth. I'll get in touch with him and hear what he has to say.

What do you say?

Nissan SA's lack of marketing- and technical support for the Patrol. The results in a number of issues:

1. The 3.0 Di engine is a complex engine from an electric/sencor management perspective. I have not met any person who realy know the engine and its systems entirely. It frustrates me.
2. Availability of parts and its pricing.

Etc.....

OK, so Nissan SA phoned me back today after I sent an email to their Customer Support Centre.
Very apologetic about the whole thing, said they will investigate and also inform their parts devision of the issue.
It won't solve my problem but may just help Nissan get their act together. The more of us complain the bigger the chance of them actually getting something right.

VOR means "Vehicle off Road" - in other words it is undriveable. I have exactly the same situation - my second diff lock has been screwed up in 2 months after been replaced - now the origin of the problem was found - the vacuum solenoid (a unit with 2 solenoids in it) is u/s - the so-called "VOR" parts order placement is suppose to get you the part within a few days - my part was ordered by Nissan Parow on the 04th Sept - Nissan Parow is still waiting for Nissan SA to give them an ETA on my part in the country - nevermind still getting it to Cape Town!! And then you don't even want to know what this little solenoid unit is priced at - it is a total rip off!!

It really sucks!!!!
