Vehicle was in for camper fitment so I couldn't test until Saturday. In 1st gear when turning almost full lock right or left picking up shudder, only on tar. On grass etc not noticeable.
Shudder comes from rear of car, hubs not locked, 2wd.

Then im going out on a limb and stating that i believe this is a case of incorrect Oil in the LSD. ..... but how? did they change the diff oil on 1st or 2nd service etc? Please check up on this with dealership(s).

Die Oompie dink seker aan die engine.
Dieselfan, I've got some extra Fully Synthetic LSD ( Syntrax Limited Slip 75W-140) oil at half the shelve price of Midas if you're interested. This is the stuff they use in Merc AMG's, BMW's as well as NISSAN GT-R.
My GQ was shuddering also, on take-off in corners. The shudder is still there with the new oil, but not even noticeable when driving slow. But when you hammer it you can definitely feel it. I still don't know if there is permanent damage caused by the previous oil change done by the previous owner.
Pm me if you're interested.

Hi bud,
I'll check my records for what oil i used,... Think its Castrol LSX (For LSD only). Let me get back to you on that.
I suggest checking your service records with Nissan. There is a 1st service at 1000km then the next would be at 7500km. I find it odd that they would have changed the oil in the rear diff in this time frame, as i think its only scheduled for change at around 45 000km or so, maybe even later, sorry i dont have my booklet with me know otherwise i would be able to tell you.
Check your invoice from nissan for any diff related oil, see if they've charged you for something odd there.
Go and see the mechanic who did the first service on the patrol and check if he dropped the original oil in that first service.
The shudder you describe fits the profile of the shudder i had when Nissan added incorrect oil to my LSD. It could be something else of course, but as far as i am concerned it all points to the rear diff slipping. Perhaps incorrectly set at factory? (rare case but could happen i assume).
Flip man, i hope you sort this out. First port of call, inform Nissan and lodge complaint with customer care.

No damage will be done to the diff if regular oil is added. However, after prolonged driving, excess wear and tare on the plates from slipping may become noticeable once the correct LSD oil is back in the diff (assuming the diff was flushed out with a series of fill-drive-drop and repeat etc.
It would be hard to predict the damage , if any, without opening up the diff.
