Some feedback:

The very first time ( end of last year) that the airbag light came on, I cleaned it with fast dry contact cleaner and it lasted about 8 months before it came back.
This time it lasted 3 days.
I then sprayed it with Q20 and it lasted a week and the light was back.
I then noticed that I can reset the light when I stand outside the Patrol but as soon as I get in and sit, the light would start flashing.

I then cut the wires and soldered in new wires from the first to the third connector, bypassing the second connector.
If you do this, you must be aware that the the colours of the wires change at the second connector. The green connects with the purple and vica versa.
It is now more than a month later and the flashing light hasn't come back.

Attached is a picture of the second connector which is situated at the front of the seat.

I had given up on my air bag light.
So had an "air-bag lightectomy" done. It is what doctors do when they take out your appendix.

I was assured the airbag still works, but will not know for sure until I may need it one day, I guess.

Alex are you still around? Can you remember what exactly you did in order to disable the light?
I'm in a similar situation and want to completely disable the Airbag light (or ideally fit a toggle switch in case I one day retro fit all the airbag stuff again)

I've survived 59 years without airbags and don't need that kak in my life. Now just to get rid of the light

Edit: Never mind. A rocket scientist patrol guy whatsapped me to just remove the bulb.

I’ve also had this issue for years now.
I had it reset once but it came back after a couple days.
I’ve now sorted it out with a pretty advanced method, that so far, has been a great fix.

I stuck a piece of tape on the cluster over the flashing light. Haha.

Spike, I must investigate this removing the bulb thing! Thank you.

Lol. I've had a piece of duct tape over it since day one. But on the outside though, so the light is still visible from the passenger side. I assume you removed the clear lens doohdah and stuck your sticker directly on the light at the black plastic?

Nope, not even as elegant as your taping measure.
Mine is a piece of masking tape that I bit off and stuck on the clear plastic at about 130km/h one day and that’s how it’s stayed for years. All crinkled and squew.

Feedback:
On my 2008 4.8 the light is incorporated into the circuit board. I didn't have time to mess around inspecting the circuit board so didn't look at soldering in a jumper wire to fit an override switch. Maybe another day. For now I just fitted a 12mmx18mm piece of insulation tape between the face and the housing. It gets clamped between the face and the housing but just to make sure I made it longer on the top section in order to have more glued area to ensure it stays in place (see blue marking on the photo). Quick job. Twenty minutes all done. I think it's the first time in my life that a DIY job got done in 20 minutes without a calamity, everything usually turns into a three day job
