I'm by no means what you can call a mechanic, but your ideas to mix Diesel with Parrafin is dangerous, very dangerous.
In the short run it works, in the long run you can expect problems, inversely proportional to the design age of your engine. The new ones tjops faster.
If the diesel was just cleaner etc etc, why then is it not mixed from the beginning, it will yield a cheaper price per litre as well? Do not go this route. Maybe get some experts to explain, they should vindicate my statement. My brother smous tractors, I'll ask him to obtain some information.
The temperatures we are bound to experience is not that bad. Between Grunau and Keetmans and also at Rosh Pinah I someteimes made a fire underneath the sump of the old 30-380, there it was not only the diesel but also the SAE40 oil that gave trouble. Incidently, these 1985 ADE powered machines we had >2000 litre tanks exactly to avoid Moz/Uganda et al kerosene-diluted diesel and use SA/Nam dieselTake a spray can and spray warm water - will take you five minutes and more hassle, but should solve it.
Or make a Renoster Coffee and wait for the sun to get going...
