I just couldn't bear to see all those question marks behind my name any more - yes, we're going Ricster!

Just to make sure we have the arrangements locally available I've copied & pasted this from the Nissan4x4 forum:

"Herewith details for the event on 30 June 2012.
1) GPS co-ords to entrance to site: S 26 deg 30’ 56.82” E 28 deg 03’55.85”. Down R59 towards Meyerton. Take Henley on Klip offramp. Turn east, towards old mine dump. Follow signs to Bass Lake (diving, 4x4 training).
2) GPS co-ords to shop/club house/lapa area for braai afterwards: S 26 deg 30’ 34.88” E 28 deg 04” 01.23”
3) Meet at shops at 10h00.
4) The costs are R 50.00 per vehicle for the 4x4 permit, and R 80.00 per person entry fee.
5) Vehicles will be split into groups of 6, to start.

Don’t be fooled, Bass Lake held an event for Fundi this time last year, in the dark, Kobus and I started driving at 9pm. There are some very good obstacles, that typically will not cause any damage to your vehicles."

copied and pasted from the Nissan4x4 site

Not sure how far the closest garage is from the track, so may be prudent to bring your compressors with (if it is not built in to the car).

Whatever recovery equipment you have plus Hilift Jack.

Some clean water 5-20L in the back comes in handy if you have to wash mud or sand off your hands after a recovery.

Basic tool kit also comes in handy.

There is a Total garage on Henley Drive, that is very close to where we are going to be ( about 3 odd Km ).... But .... bring your compressors anyway.... ( should be part of your "Full Recovery Gear").... but don't panic if you don't have one..... us Nissan drivers are a great team !!, but recovery ropes and snatch ropes and "bow" shackles is an item that everyone should have!!

iemand??? -- can we get some proper directions how to get to the venue [where we are supposed to gather] ??????

do NOT assume that EVERYBODY owns a GPS :naughty: :naughty: :naughty: -- and doe NOT assume I know how to enter "coordinates" on a GPS ..

put a map or readable directions from a commonly known point [also - do not assume I know Joburg] so, maybe start at AirPort [ORT] ?? :oldtimer: :oldtimer: :oldtimer:
