Peter, he told me that his brother was involved in a motorcycle accident and has been left to a wheelchair due to the injuries he sustained.
The reason they were selling the goods was too afford a motorised wheelchair.
Also, I see that he lists a patrol as his current vehicle but there was a landy old shape disco in the drive.
Anyway, I posted this to warn fellow forumers as I feel that 99% of the guys on here are of the highest caliber and we should not have to be burnt by dodgy characters...
Lekker lang naweek ouens!

Hello,
i was not in yesterday,as i was at the hospital all day due to family health issues as previously mentioned. As i said i was not at home and the security staff at my estate do not know if you are in or out,or give out that information anyway.
Adrian i did see your missed calls last night when i got home from the hospital, and i apologise for not being in but due to the circumstances, family health takes priority.
I have to say i am very offended by the last few comments made by other members, the items are all genuine and not a "scam" as one member insinuated, the items are all my brothers, and the odd thing i have been given by a friend in order to raise funds for my brother,as he knows the all round strain the family is under at this time.
All i can say is i'm very disappointed. And would not wish my current familys situation on anybody !!!
best regards
Dion

Mods if im overstepping here please delete but im sure this needs sorting out
Dion , if you feel offended by the replies i do apologise from my side but you must also see the side of the forum members here
We all have at some point or another tried buying stuff of people on forums that ended up as poor qaulity or not what they promised
You have advertised 14 different items on this forum and i know you have also advertised a hilux snorkel on another forum that alone is unfortuneatly enough to scare of some guys and make the rest cautios and you cannot disagree with that
That is why i suggested that you take pictures of the items and put it all in one post like you did with the bumper so that the guys can see the qaulity of the stuff
Im sure the issue with Adrian was a misunderstanding and not intended
And again if i can speak on behalf of the rest of forum members they have only treated me with respect and are always helpfull so im sure its just a scenario where some people including you were rubbed up the wrong way and this can be resolved in a decent manner
Cheers
Driko

Hi Overthehill
I start off by quoting Peter C: "Overthehill, if you really did lose a brother recently, my sincerest apologies and commiserations."
I think there are few important points to summarise:
1) You have to accept that the suspicions raised were done with sincerity.
2) Scams do happen and we must all be alert to these
3) Thus far we have nothing to go by here but your word (and this is simply not good enough in this day and age)
Your response therefore that you are offended by insinuations therefore does not help.
In stead I would expect you to do the following:
1) Respond to the suspicions raised with equal sincerity (as opposed to the way you have responded thus far)
2) Please list every item for sale in ONE post (rather than scattered around and posted intermittently as is currently the case)
3) Indicate which ones have now been sold to members on this forum, so that these can be validated by those forum members that have bought them
4) Please confirm that your preferred method of payment is only upon collection, rather than EFT prior to collection
5) Photos of course would also help. It should not be that difficult to add these.
For now, and for the record, I give you the benefit of the doubt. Also I am sure I speak for most forum members if I say that, in case these suspicions are wrong, we are all very sorry for your loss.
However, if you fail to do the above, I'm afraid you will remain suspicious, rightly or wrongly.
Yours sincerely
Alex
