You're right it looks a lot the Landcruiser 200 series...

It's sad, it seems most luxury offroads now won't have solid axles...

If you look at other pics of new Defender its got the following.
1) Gutters , well we all know it works the best for roofracks and any other mods
2) Solid axles 10/10
3) NCAP safety standards same as Disco, cause they need to sell it to the 1 st world as well
4)Disco 3&4 Interior and ergonomics
5) Square shape, ie. easily accesorised with fuel and water tanks, plus everything else
I dont know what the price will be , thats the important part.
I also see the Dura Torgue motor will become the cheapest engine in Europe @ 1800 British Pounds for the unit.
Some of you dont like it , man I do . I long the Cameraderie that the Japs vehicles dont have.
At least since they will use a French engine in the new Troll the stupid Jap design of putting the intercooler above the hot engine will disappear, why do the Japs do it, its the most dumb design we can have . Feel the intercooler , its always hot in my Troll. But the rest of the new Troll actually looks Korean, hell maybe they took over the Ssang Yong designers .THE NEW PATROL= UGLY UGLY UGLY

:naughty: OK, this thread has gone way off topic. What with all this chat of Land Rovers  . Let's get back to the new Patrol:

Have a look at the pictures of disguised new Patrols from the nissan-arabia forum. Despite the disguises, it is clear that the vehicle styling and bodywork is identical to that of the vehicle in the undisguised pictures that were leaked earlier (reproduced here for reference). I am not sure if the Land Cruiser 200 in the first two pictures is part of the same procession (being used for comparative testing perhaps?). Apparently the Patrol's climate control system was being tested in high ambient temperatures in Abu Dhabi. It is likely that the new Patrol will be available internationally in the first quarter of 2010.

Yes, I agree that the chance of having a solid front axle on the new Patrol seems remote. The Y61 would then represent the end of an era in the same way as the Land Cruiser 105 Series did.

Well, if it has no solid front axle it is not a true Patrol :oldtimer:
