Awesome Gerrit! that means that it'll be available for my 2007 pickup, i'll enquire about this at Nissan and report back to this thread. Very interesting. Thanks for letting me know.

Russ, the only thing is that the turbo intercooled pick-up obviously has a big hole in the insulation where the intercooler goes.

Oh and by the way, my old 4.5 wagon also has underbonnet insulation (uninterrupted, of course, due to the absence of any intercooler).

Cool!

Something just occurred to me though,... would i not stand a chance of now increasing the heat in the engine bay which would in turn increase the engine temps perhaps ? Or am i being silly ? Your thoughts...

Morning Russ,

I have a GQ 4.2 D with turbo and inter cooler and have replaced on two occasions the liner under the hood/bonnet. I got this on a trip to Aus at a bargain. It has a slight effect on the noise. What did make a big difference was the additional veldt I installed along the firewall and also silicon on the grommets in the firewall, for cables etc. I also installed some heat resistant material throughout the cabin which has also reduced the temp inside the vehicle.

Please send me a PM with your vehicles engine number and year model. We are only just getting the lists for parts up to date so if anybody else needs parts please send pm, but do not forget the engine number and year model.

Cool. Grant, was the firewall insulation something of a factory design, or was it one you applied and cut to suit the vehicle?

Engine Number: TD42189223
Vin Number: JN1UCLY61Z0001891
Year Model: 2007

Shot, Russ.

Note: This is not something that i HAVE TO HAVE, i just want to find out if it is out there as i believe it would be a fair modification to make should the price be right. Thanks everyone.

Don't you need to order one for 4.5 or 4.8?????
Seeing that it does not come standard with it???
And the one for 4.2 TDI has a hole in??? The bonnets
On petrols are the same , I stand corrected??

You are correct, same bonnet. (1998 - 2004/5) = 2007 pickup bonnet shape.
