You should be ok on standard suspension with 285/75/16.
Had them on my previous patrol who had standard( actually badly warn) suspension and had no problem.
Anather option would be now we can get ToughDog suspension parts is the coil spacers they offer, if you feel it
Might be bit low on body space with the 285's. At R400.00 a spacer it alot cheaper than to go the full suspencion
Replacement.

That only my :mytwocents:

Jacques (Terrakunzi)

If I were you I would go for the 285/75/16 (33 inch)
It is the best size for Patrol - my view.

I had a long look at 285/75/16 and as was said they are 33". But I had a look at the 305/70/16 also 33" but wider. Went to a tyre place in Boksburg, they had both sizes there and for me, it will be the latter in the near future.

Thanks Louis

I had a look at your tyres the other day, but was not sure if you had a suspension lift.

Thanks for the info.

Jorrie, I must say that the Kumho's I have on are fantastic..... but ... I can only compare them to the Bridgestone Duellers AT (31") I had on before. there is no contest which is for me the better tyre. As I said before they are quite noisy on the tar, and re-balancing them seemed to be difficult after they had done a few Km. In the wet, on tar they do stick like sheeeet to a blanket..... .... ( I think better than the Duellers ). I went for the Kumho because the price was right, and they had proved themselves with other guys.

Mileage is dependent on the type of terrain you will be traveling on. On the beach sand in Mozambique, and Atlantis.... it eats the rubber ( but will do that on any tyre ).... on the rocks, you get the odd chunk of rubber carved out of the knobbly.

So overall I am happy with the performance!!
