Long term I would go for the 4.8 Patrol which is totally under stressed (...where have you heard about a modern multi valve running a 9:1 compression ratio?...) 15 years is a minimum lifespan and you can hammer it everyday - it just responds with the minimum of electronics and over engineered transmission which won't let you down when the going gets tough as long as you do the basic maintenance.![]()
You might be putting in a bit more fuel in the Trol than in the Disco but what the heck - you have already saved at least R80k!
I think decide what is important to you - piece of mind or bling - and go for it!
