Hi guys, I am in support that we do something to at least show we are around and have great cars. Yes the one guy says that the Partrol should have sold more if Nissan woke up. I agree as at present they are still importing new ones and some of the dealers are giving one hundred thousand discount if you but a new one, but we dont see this advertised. Can we not consider say the Free State as an venue so that all the guys can get together, which will include KZN, W/Cape and Gauteng drivers. Maybe one nights sleep over. I see a big interest, but we need somebody to be the Champion for this. The Nissan 4x4 club could easly organise such an event as the team is well geared in organising outings. Lets ask the guys at the Club if they are interested. We might even get some buy in fromNissan and a few dealers.

Beast thanks for the enthusiasm.
Unfortunately this year has been financially very tough for me and I would not be able to attend an event in the middle, which is one of the (selfish) reasons I recomended that we split the event into a cuople of venues. If we can do it on the same day, perhaps with a cuople of laptops with scype we can all communicate and make it "one event"?

Kobus, personally I feel the Nissan club is welcome to be involved, but while in some ways the Patrol is the daddy of all the Nissan 4x4's, and thus even the Navara can claim lineage, I wuold like this to be a Patrol day.

Of course when I say Patrol, I do include all the vehicles that were branded Patrol in other parts of the world if not here, so the guys with Safari's are definately welcome.

my views - Peter C has it spot-on with a LOT of PATROL events all over the country [and the local newspapers and all motoring Magazines involved - same as they did for the Toyota Land Cruisers ]

Herrie is also correct - The Nissan 4x4 MUST be involved [these are Nissan Patrols, not mazda or ford or opel Patrols - but NISSAN PATROLS.]
(then I can bring both my Patrols to the function)

QQQ O/K those of us going to LA Sport on 14, we meet at the Nissan stand were ever that is and discuss further and take from there. I believe we make it a Patrol day but also invite all the Nissan guys, and even the Datsun club. We will ofcource have photos of Patrols, but maybe a bigger group to show how we stand togther. In our family we drive Nissans, even if one is a Patrol , the other a Safari and the third one, who is a bit of a show of a Navara. [Thats the one in the newest Leisure Wheels on page 44.] I think we must not argue to much, just get a date and start advertising the venues and the date and the time and other arrangements. We must just try to get good cameras. The magazines dont want to use the photos that we take, that I learned with Leisure Wheels, who were adamant to take there own photos. Keep well.

Beasty I support you 100%, the more the merrier. It seems Nissan has started to promote the Patrol a bit more , I saw a Patrol ad the other day in one of the 4x4 magazine's. This was a first for me. We can discuss the modus operandi at LA SPORT 4x4 show so start putting on those thinking out of the box caps.

I read that the Patrol may no longer be offered in Europe. If true, I wonder whether that would include Ukraine. I hope not.

And knowing how popular the Trolls are here, I sort of doubt it.
