Huh - how did you come to this conclusion?van niekerk wrote:lokks like a now show for the patrols in melkbos.

Alan and myself met at Melkbos as arranged and went from there to Atlantis where we met G-man on the way out. Also spotted a golden and 2 white Patrols as well as a few older Patrols & 2 Safari's.
Must say the event was great if you competed but if you were a spectator you had no clue what is happening where and we got bored after a while...
We did however go for a quick 'guided' trip through the dunes and Alan (with his 18 month old navigator) really showed us how it is done

I would love to see what that Patrol can do once the LS2 is in! - We will have to arrange something

Thanx David. The little guided tour was fun and the 4.5 at least had its last run.
It would really be nice to get the Patrols together for a run in the Dunes.
I will try and put something together for the LS2's first run and hopefully we can get some Patrollers together for that.
As for the event, must admit one had to enter to get the full value of the event. I decided to spectate as I had my '18 month old navigator' (nodigator on the way home) and could not unfortunately spend the whole day there.
It was good to see G-man (even though it was on the way out) and meet David. Always good to be able to put a face to a name.
David, next time we will get the 4.8 to go where the 4.5 can go.......
(sorry just had to throw that one in).

I was a marshal/safety officer there and it was an outstanding success.
I even was taken for a 30 min ride in an Artic Truck by Gerhard Groenawald.
The others pic is our record of 490 Hiluxes...

Sorry I missed you guys!
Ian, how did the Artics perform in the sand - must've floated over the sand?

John they floated over the sand like a hovercraft, we rode over all the big dunes with no sweat at all, the big tyres are perfect for this, but behave very badly on tar.
