Not to start a whole Patrol vs Cruiser fuel consumption debate here, but what one needs to keep in mind is the moment you start lifting the suspenion, add bigger 'off-road' tyres, fit after market front & rear bumpers, etc. your fuel consumption will never be the same as when the vehicle was std.

Remember, :naughty: I'm not even incl. other heavy xtras eg. packing systems, R/R's, RTT's, trailers, water tanks, etc.

Bottom line, once you own a big beautiful, heavy duty 2 ton+ capable off-roader (and start adding the xtras), the 'fuel consumption issues' becomes something of the past!

It all comes together so well when stand on top of the hill and look down at the rest of the 4x4's burning clutches and blowing turbos to get up the same obstacle....

But really, fuel consumption is heavy, but you have to keep in mind what you are driving and the capability the Patrol has. It is safe secure, steady, and will keep going long after you gave up. It is also nice to know that when it becomes tough, the Patrol won't breakdown, overheat or die on you. Once you drive a Patrol, you'll battle to buy another 4x4. They are the BEST.

If you want to save fuel, buy a horse...
