Hi all,

My GL is dead standard, no lift , OME shocks, no heavy bumpers (yet). I have the standard steel rims.

I was really interested in the Pirelli Scorpions but they are not available in 275/70 16 or 285/75 16. They are available in 265/75 locally . The BFG's are available in both sizes and the Duelers definitely in 275/70 but i did not bother to get the quote for 285/75 16. It was a tough call but some opinions indicated the Duelers are more susceptible to punctures when running low pressures, i.e 2bar. I've alway run my cars slightly higher pressure than the prescribed pressure which saved me plenty bent rims and snake eyes on my plat karre. However with a preggy wife I'll run the tyre normal pressure.

I've decided to go with the BFG's, 2 shops close by had stock, 1 could get in an hour. Bridgestone guys had 2 and would have to contact other shops to see if they are willing to part with their stock. I just hope that the BFGs are not that bad in wet weather .

As for fitment on a standard suspension, the tire do catch a bit on the front mudflaps - more noticeable in reverse than forward. The BFG's balanced first time round.

Pricing: (I'll have to find my notes but here is from memory)
BFG 285/75 16 from 2060 to 2499
Bridgestone 275/70 from 2300
