Looks alright.

Get a Dekra report for it. ODO reads 40783 - which means that motor is not even run in... :|

R119k - low price. Price on window indicate R169k..
40k km seem suspisiously low...
pity there is no pic of the engine bay.

Price drop: It's been in the market for ages. Obviously some issues, but a solid base I thought?

At that price and mileage, I smell a rat.
But if you have the budget for an engine rebuild (probably including a new head), it could be a good starting point. I have no idea what a known "good one" would cost now.

I tell you something for free: before I buy that thing, it WILL be driven up and down the nearest hill for at LEAST half an hour.........
My experience with its little cousin, the TD27, is that a head gasket failure or cracked head will VERY quickly come out of hiding.

It says that it is a TD42 turbo.
If it is a factory turbo, those TD42s have the more effective oil cooling. Not sure how it works but runs much cooler than after market turbos.
I had a factory turbo Td42 with top mount intercooler in a Series 4 station wagon and it never got hot. In fact the max water temps in the Karoo was 95deg. I do not think I ever got above 500 on the EGTs. That is if it is a factory turbo.

But as Piet said, at that price and mileage, it seems a tad too good to be true.

That one has trouble written all over it!

If it's too good to be true it is........???

Check the pick showing the interior- they made a real mess replacing whatever where the air bags popped.

Weird alignment of driver door window frame to cab.

Both rear view mirrors are aftermarket.

Very view would change the rims to something else at only 40k km.

Plausable would be 40k km after they rebuilt it from scrapped vehicles

If you want it offer them R75k

Bakkie is still in the market. I've sent a message to the dealer asking what their lowest price is. I'll probably offer them what you mentioned and see if they bite.

Mirrors: I've looked at these pickups and it seems the mirrors are correct for a 2008.
Alignment: ditto above.
Rims: ditto above for 2008
Airbags: not seeing what you are seeing.

Have a look at another 2008 available in Bellville:
https://www.cars.co.za/for-sale/used/20 ... e/9065419/

The only difference between the 2 is the colour of the rims, otherwise it seems the door and bonnet clearances are what they are.

Hi.

That one in Belvillr had an engine swap. Lexus v8 in it. Explains the price.

The one before that was on the market when I was looking for a pickup years ago. I’m pretty sure it’s a scam so take care if/when you go view.
