I saw this vehicle again today, so I left a card on the windscreen & the owner called me!
Nice guy named Mark, it was a 3.0l handgrenade... now has a healthy sounding Lexus powerplant.
I recomended he join the forum, hope we see him soon.

A few years ago me and my father went to see David in Warmbad about some manual hubs for his safari that also has a lexus in and he kindly explained how popular the lexus was among the boat guys... as anchors.

The 1UZFE is aluminium, not good for anchoring at all.
On the other hand a diesel is cast iron, brilliant anchor!
Dawid, good soul, is about as biased as a swivel chassis.
