Re: Diesel Filter Issue
Is this "fuel inlet filter" and a "banjo filter" the same thing? (I have read before about cleaning a banjo filter on the td42 - thread here somewhere)..

Re: Diesel Filter Issue
Fanus, banjo refers to the fitting seen in the referenced thread, which has a bolt with a hole down the centre and connecting cross-holes through which the fluid passes.
So I guess it probably is.

Re: Diesel Filter Issue
There are normally two of those banjo bolts one with an inner filter which is fitted onto the the lift pump being the supply from the fuel tank
The other one is fitted on the return side of the of the injector pump and has a ball and spring on the inside this is what keeps the pressure in the injector pump
very important banjo that one

Re: Diesel Filter Issue
This is not applicable to every TD42, I have checked my pump before and it does not have this filter, also checked others.
I have checked a couple of ZD30's as well and could not find a pump which actually had this filter in.
I suspect that the diesel pump shops remove this when doing a recon and never replace it, not sure if it is actually needed.
