Hello Almal,
When booting up our 4.8 GRX, sorry I mean starting our Patrol in the morning there is a very loud CLUCKING sound coming from the engine bay and goes away as the engine heats up. Not very long but definitely doesnt sound good.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Ian,
I will check that, but this only happens when the vehicle is really cold!
Maybe the oil is frozen inside?

Old Oil/Wronge Oil x Cold Temps = Thick Oil !!! Had it on my old 3L skyline summer hardly made a noise but winter it sounded like a bucket of bolts until it warmed up

Interesting, ok that is something to look into, but it gets serviced every year by Graham and I dont believe it to be old oil.
The car doesnt do many km as well. Maybe 10 000 a year if so many.

When I start mine on a cold winters morning (actually, any time any season), the geology and seismic dudes from tukkies phones and tunes me according to their richter-scale gizmos I'm sitting at the epicentre of a nasty earthquake...

Check for ducks in the engine bay!!
Any chance its the fan belts? - mine make quite a bit of noise and have not found a good way to make this go away yet!!
