Correct 15" Rim Width?

Post by Aleric Meyer »

I've ordered 5x Kumho KL71 M/T 33"x12.5" tyres with 15"x8" white steel rims, which i will have panted black. The tyre guy assures me that the 8" rim width is correct and safe for the tyres. Do any of you have experience with this or an opinion? I drive a 2000 4.5.

are your mags going up for sale? sounds cool to me to!!! you need a rim that makes your tire fit squire so that your sidewalls dont bulge and get stabed by rocks and sticks !!! any thing from a 8" to 10" speak to PC he has the same size with same rims

I have 33" x 12.5" x 15" BF A/T's on 15x8 Mags. I briefly had them on the standard 7" steel rims.

I believe The recommended rim sizes for these tires are anything from 8" to 10". The narrower they are, the better your sidewalls are protected but I believe that for best performance in sand the widest rims would be best.

Also check and make sure the inner bore diameter of the steel rim fits over the hubs, I had to cut mine. Not sure if the Y60 and Y61 requires the same inner bore size.

Cheers.
