Patrol Scan Tool

Post by Strandblom »

Hi, I would like to buy a scan tool for my 2003 Patrol 4.8 GRX. Does anyone know which tool to buy and where? I have ready many articles on these tools, but there are many opinions about which one will work on the patrol. They talk about Consult 2 that is not OBD compatible etc. Could i have some advice from my fellow forum members please.

Thanks

I have a basic OBD computer with various protocols that I do not use anymore, should anybody be interested.

Worked fine on the Pug I had before. anny offers welcome, but I am not sure if it will work with the Trollies. Has got the EOBD plug I believe.

I have the Nissan DataScan II + Blazt II adaptor http://www.nissandatascan.com/ which works fine on my 4.8
It costs R1500 delivered to your door and you can download the program for free from the website if/when there are upgrades.

You can only adjust the timing & idling speed & clear codes but it gives you a lot of info which is nice when trying to identify faults

Guys careful for OBDII compliant scantools , they will only work on a select few nissan as SA doesnt have OBD compliancy laws and having a vehicle with an OBDII socket does not mean it is OBDII complaint
You need a tool that also gives more than just the OBD fault codes

Feel free to coantact me regarding this in a pm , as their is tonnes of info and let me put it this way my company wont be selling an average of 5 units a week ranging from R22000 to R60000 a piece if a basic OBDII code reader was sufficient
