Shot, JP! Thanks for the pics.

Surprised that the area is so arid, looks a lot like our west coast, old abandoned mines and all!

That sea looks c-o-l-d-!

Thanks a lot guys, aprecciate your comments.

Just to clear out, Chile has various types of climates , in the North (apox. 2.000 kmt long) we have arid desert climate (worlds dryest, the Actacama desert), as you see here, with great mining deposits and abandoned beaches where you might find few people touring around , there are important cities mainly dedicated to portuary duties and most of all Copper extracting bussinesss where Chile is the world leader in copper production. Then the middle of the country that has a mediterranean climate (where the capital city is , Santiago, 6 million) , mild , short winters, nice beaches (water is cold), surfing, windsurfing ,kite, nice mountains to ski, etc. and then the south , some 300 to 1600 kmts down south (ending at the so called Patagonia) with lake districts, wet jungle, rainy seasons, marvelous nature, rivers lakes, glaciers, etc. The good part, is we don't have harmful animals, nor lions, wolves, spyders, snakes, etc, so you can camp on the wild, and on the ground without any fear.
