60th anniversary

Post by dieselfan »

Was at a Toyota dealership the other day...lekker 70 series with leather and custom 60th letters embroided. Where's Nissan's celebration?!

Magazines are pouring out complements for Toyota. I would love a Patrol but the LC and Toyota brand is really hard to fight, the arrogance keeps me at bay but for how long. The petrol at R10/l make it easy to work out fuel consumption tho WWW

I agree.

What really angers me with these magazines are how absolutely naive and misinformed the journo's, columnists , and worst of all, editors, actually are. It quite pathetic actually, that these folk know less about what they are reporting on then the readers that purchase this material (hogwash). Not to mention the outdated and totally feeble connotations to Chuck Norris, Schalk Buger and the like,....come on guys, are you actually serious.

As for the LC article, with the entire 4/6 page breakdown of LC through the ages, that was really cool. I guarantee you they won;t do likewise for Patrol, even though there is no difference in their timeline. Weather is Toyota greasing the palms of said staff of these publications and/or the absolute lack of general knowledge of their own subject matter , the fact remains that these guys will probably laugh off the Idea of a Patrol 4/6 page spread through the ages. I have no faith in these publications at all anymore, and now i only buy them for the pictures.

Seeing Editors refer to a front cover picture of a Land Rover Series 3 as a Defender just says it all, he can't even get that right, ....He's the EDITOR!

In Fact, there was many incorrect statements in the Land Cruiser 60 years article too, shame on them.

In Australia these guys would get ripped to shreds and nobody would support these publications. If it was a hunting magazine and the article is about kudu, but the editor kept called it an Eland, there would be hell to pay, there's no difference here.

Ok, Rant mode off!

I would love to see a Huge spread on Patrol's / Safari/ Mav etc.
