Engine warning light

Post by Rocstompa »

My engine warning light came on, I had just had tyre monitoring system fitted and when I went to collect the vehicle the engine warning light was on. We disconnected the tyre system with no luck so we disconnected the battery also with no luck.I really need this sorted out as i am going through Baviaans on Tuesday, apparently Nissans plug and play diagnostic unit can tell immmediately where the problem is so I have to take it in tommorow and hope all is well.

Has anyone had a similar problem and if so what was the cause?

Maybe they cut a wire by mistake and did not notice it. It might be very difficult to find!

With that system no wires were cut, they now have connectors that clamp on the wire under the dash as the system comes on once your key is turned to the on position. It was the first time that I have seen these connectors.

did they work under the dash? - could be they have dilsodged [unplugged by accident] one of the "reporting" wires, thus the engine / management light will come on..

NISSAN dealers are not supposed to charge you for a "diagnoses" on your car with their console - Take it to them first - I found my engine light came on - and Steves Auto Clininc could not determine what caused it - Took Agarob to Nissan agent- they forthwith identified fault "P 9" [fuel communication] I O W .. the fuel pump was not OK...

Thanks for the help.

Took it in to Nissan, it was the air flow sensor that was possibly removed with the engine running so they had to reset it  .

Now I can go through Baviaans feeling more peacefull.
