Spike, I could be wrong here but I think 90% of Fanus's current driving is around town.
If I am correct, then (on the TB42) that is a fairly good strategy as the torque does peak pretty early, and also 4.4 is not actually all that bad for a GQ in town traffic.

My Patrol is my daily drive. I do about 11 km per day: Drop laaitie off at school on the way to work and then later back home. Robot to robot short distances... :driving:
(Did also do one trip to Whiteriver and back on last 120l fuel used in calculation).

The Patrols (and I guess all other heavy vehicles) absolutely hate the short drives!
My wife used the 4.8 for a while for dropping and fetching the kids from school - a 16km round trip. The fuel consumption was absolutely eye watering! If I recall I think it was doing something like 3.5km/l. I put a stop to that very quickly!
