Re: Diff replacement
I literally just replaced my TB45E 4.11 with 4.375 ratios (H260) at the rear.
So far additionally I order diff overhaul kits for both front and rear diff from TT. And replaced the hub and axle seals while I'm at it.
I'm not planning on opening the diffs again soon, so decided to do these while all is open and out.
Also put in a Lokka in front.
Still waiting for the process to be complete, but will hopefully have some stats regarding the change it makes soonish.

Re: Diff replacement
This might be a silly question, but I assume that you also replaced the front diff ratios with 4.375?NoPressure wrote: ↑06 Jun 2021 13:49 I literally just replaced my TB45E 4.11 with 4.375 ratios (H260) at the rear.

Yes, ek sal opskrywing doen sodra alles bymekaar kom. Sien uit om dit te toets. Ek wag al 5 maande vir suspensie uit Aus...

Re: Diff replacement
How did you get your hands a Lokka. Since Covid started, there are a few of us that have been sending emails with no reply from them. They are the only guys that do kit for a C200 front end.NoPressure wrote: ↑06 Jun 2021 13:49 I literally just replaced my TB45E 4.11 with 4.375 ratios (H260) at the rear.

Another question, how do the internals differ from a H260 HD from a 80-83 Safari and the later H260. My H260 HD in the Sani has 4.88 gears. THEN, how do I find out what kit I need to do an Overhawl on my H260. I need to replace the pinion bearings and want to do the side shaft bearings and seals at the same time. Want to pre-order the kit before I pull the diff to keep downtime to a minimum, as it's the only transport I have.

A lot of technical questions I do not have all the answer to.
1) I purchased the lokka through their international website in August 2020, it took about 3 months to arrive.
2) Unfortunately I do not know the H260 HD, but I assume the HD indicates an "high centre"? I always thought they only went to 4.6 (was searching for them). But, as most Aus guys, they have compatibility charts and will be able to send you the right stuff.
I used the VIN from a manual 4.8 to acquire the crown wheel and pinion directly from Nissan.
3) The kit I purchased through terrain tamer. It was a bit of back and forth, but it seems we got the right stuff. DKN 13 and DKN14.
I will possibly get the vehicle today and make sure everything works properly. I can also send you pictures of the diff bearings part nr stamped on them so you can see if it matches?

Re: Diff replacement
So I finally got my diff ratios changed to 4.1 to suite the 33 inch tyres. Big thanks to Tinus for helping organise it all.
So far I’m very happy. It’s made the car feel overall a lot ‘healthier’, it’s taken away that laziness it used to have. Looking forward to getting onto the open road and to see if I can eventually use the cruise control without it hunting gears the whole time.
