Old Man EMU

Post by ra_01 »

Hi

I will be installing an Old Man EMU very soon. Just waiting for stock at 4x4megaworld edenvale.

Sales agent recommended 971 in the front and 981 rear due to static weight with RTT, Drawer in rear with fridge slider etc.

He has only quoted me on Coils, Springs and steering damper. He says the rear sway bar upgrade is not needed as it's just a 2inch lift. Am I missing anything?
Regards
Rahul

Coils springs and steering damper or shocks, coils and steering damper?

And what about caster correction?

Lastly, have you considered Terrain Tamer rather than OME?

Hi Peter I did discuss castor correction, not sure why it's not in the quote. Will discuss with him. It's coils, shocks and steering damper.

I am going with Old Man emu based on this survey and reputation.

Have a look at this
You have a y61 and they are pricing y60 gq stuff that is 700kg lighter.
The terrain taimer has way more options and is stronger in general. Also the only one that works empty and fully loaded .
Speak to the experts caster correction with 2 inch lift is a must . You will shorty find out the difference when you drive with and without it.
The more famous 4x4 shops shell you what they have available not always your best option.
Ask the guys on here that got the full kit the caster bushes and steering damper comes standard with suspension kit .

Rahul, if you followed a survey like that to buy your car you would have ended up with either a Cruiser or a Hilux.
It only reflects which company has had the best marketing for the longest, and for a very long period that was OME.
