Time for an update!

So we got to drive about 350km before we got the first bump in the road!

Before I start talking about what went wrong, it should be mentioned that the guys at Chris Mod had the job to prep and install my engine that I supplied and to ensure I get to drive out of there with a functioning vehicle. The motor was prepped, serviced and custom sump was added as well as my two electric fans with a custom shroud that they built for the fans.

We got home and the toertrokkie was as smooth as 15 year old potstill until we hit a rough gravel road and things went sideways... The motor had a very rough idle and she was running very rich. Now Im sitting there, looking at the fuel gauge and thinking, you idiot! Nobody ever cleaned out the fuel tank! Before I bought the vehicle, the conversion was a mess and oil was everywhere and the vehicle had been standing for months at the workshop that had to repair it, which the owner of the shop was not prepared to do given the condition of the conversion. Before it was at that shop, it was at another shop and so on. I then purchased the vehicle and had it a month before I towed it to Chris mod which then worked on it over a period of two months. So who knows how old the fuel in the tanks were and how much contamination was building up over that period.

I then decided to throw in some injector cleaner, take it for a bit of a shake again on the gravel road, let it stand for a day, go for another shake and and cleaned out the tanks and replace the filter, which at this point was quite shot. Braam then said, its still not sounding 100%, so he sent me two airflow meters and last night I got to install it and take it for a test drive. I am happy to say she purrs beautifully again!

Now for a few more test drives to find whatever else is wrong and fix it before we go on a few big trips!

My next job now was to clean the underbody and remove all the oil that was spray painted by the old conversion and then get her ready for the roadworthy
