I got mine through Tinus, had it fitted by Collin in Jetpark. Contact Tinus, he has all the detail.

A few months ago I bought a Bunco rear bumper that became available. The bumper came all the way from the West Coast and I knew it would need some refurbishing as I wanted to change the existing round lights.

So the work started, cutting out the round lights and highlift jack points to weld in new plate for a smooth area to fit new bakkie LED lights and new triangle shape recovery points.

My welding skills are crap to say the least, so Tinus jumped in to assist and safe the project.

The rear bumper was then send for sandblasting and power coating.

Fitment time, but first we had to strip off the existing and clean the chassis:

With the initial fit I discovered a gap in the centre where the recovery point attach to the chassis of 135mm…. A call to Peter Connan informed me that a face lift covered this with a spacer fitted to the chassis that made up the gap. In typical Mr Connan style this created an opportunity for fabrication of a spacer:

In the end the rear bumper was fitted with two M16 bolts on the sides and four M12 bolts in the centre.

So late afternoon I collected Tlou, a dream come true!!

As you can see, it is a clean slate.... some planning and dreaming to do to fit him, but first he will go for a visit to Michael to check him over and let me know what I should look out for (eventually we will get to having a turbo done and to let Anthony fit a Madman.

To do in no specific order:
- Second battery
- Drawers in the back
- Having the hail dents removed on the bonnet and to fix the few chip marks there are and at the same time having the rims painted black
- Suspension
- Tyres
- Tow bar
- Bull bar
- Roof rack
So I drove Tlou home on 14 November 2018, in close to 3 years the vehicle has come a very long way:

And this is not the end…

The Patrol is not known for proper coffee mug space, so I removed the ash tray as I do not use it, and initially with carton crafted a model that will have space for bigger and proper (Stanley) coffee mugs. My neighbor then offered to print the design for me with his 3D printer and here is the result:

There is a space for a USB charger to fit that I still have to do. Used it to Goerapan and back and it works, so I am happy with the result.

Prior to Goerapan I also ordered an "In-betweenie" from Mark at 4x4 Assist after seeing his photo's on social media. I find this another handy piece in the vehicle for water bottles, mugs, handheld radio's etc:
