polyurethane spacers from midas, 6mm insertion rubber and longer bolts take the spare wheel carrier another +-30mm further away, just right to fit the spare on - thanks also to Peter Connan for your input
the front tyres were rubbing on the mudguards at full lock, undid 6 screws and that problem went away

see what they've got in terms of spacers
polyurethane may not need the rubber to avoid scratching, so if you can get a 30mm long spacer instead of the 20mm like mine, it may make it simpler
or double up on the 20mm
the 20s i got have a 10mm bore, which is perfect for the bolts

i put loctite on the new 8.8 bolts as per PC's advice

tinus' suggestion to me was 8mm between the door and the carrier, and 8mm on the studs
in my case that wasn't going to be enough, so i just modded the carrier mount as shown

as it sits i cant fit my fingers through the gap between the tyre and the door, between 3 o'clock and 5, and 7 and 9

Good evening All!

I need new boots...inherited Maxxi Bravos A/T on my Patrol but they are taking a hammering in the potholes on my commute...chipped to hell...I think they are just old. Considering another set, but wondering what the long term reviews are. Km-wise I spend maybe 70% tar, 30% gravel & dirt. Any advice?

We have Dunlop AT3G ( the first gen 3ply sidewall now designated 3GM) on the other Patrol. They are great (no chips, high load rating, good grip) but you can basically run it at 1bar and it still looks like 3bar. So wanted to try the new 2ply version instead of Maxxis, to get some deflation when needed, but with unrest in Durban, Dunlops apparently taken 285 R16 off the availability list.

I'm a huge fan of the Kumho KL51 Muddies. Great on tar, great on gravel, and form nicely on lower pressures. Also pretty quiet on the black stuff. Were very reasonably priced too when I bought mine. Done about 15 000km so far on them

Never had one on any of the Kumho's I've had. Had the Kumho KL71 muddies, Kumho A/T's and now the ML51 muddies. I abused the tyres too.

They not bad have nearly 120000km on my 772 razr muds and going strong
