Hi Guys!
Took my newly purchased Patrol out to the farm a few days ago, a section of the dirt road has corrugations, they aren't too bad but noticeable. Upon my return to the tarmac I noticed my radio and clock had stopped working. I got home later that evening and inspected the wires behind the dash, everything seems fine, checked the interior fuse box, all fuses are in perfect condition. Any ideas what could be the issue?
Thanks!

I don't really know the GQ, but the GU has I think 9 different earth wires attached at various points. Maybe check all the earths and make sure they are clean and tight?
Cheers, Gareth

Yeah the earthing is a bit of a "issue" with the Patrols, I believe more so with the GQ's than GU's, but i think that other accessories will probably not work too if it were the earthing. Maybe check the dash lights and accessory lights, Cigarette lighter etc. and then to see if they are all working.

Re: 92 TB42 GQ Radio & Clock Stopped Working
Thanks guys.
Yes the first thing I did when I noticed the radio had turned off was to check if anything else has turned, that's when I noticed the clock too had been off. All other electrical accessories are working (cigarette lighter, mirrors, interior lights etc) which makes it a little weird. Would anyone know where exactly these earth points are located in order to check their condition, perhaps one of them is dirty and/or lose.

Re: 92 TB42 GQ Radio & Clock Stopped Working
Quite possibly those two share a common power supply or earth.
I would sat start by seeing if there is power at the radio. It should be easy to pull out and check.
If there is power, then the problem is with the earth.
Another possible problem could be the ignition switch. They are know to give issues, and there not all that many other components that have power on the acc key position.
