Re: New here Advice on new Patrol
Hi all Zerubabel is turning out to be a very expensive vehicle
The fuel I have under control and budget for, but she always wants more modifications. I added up that I want more than R 200 000 worth of upgrades. So that will take me at least two years if not five, eisch
Bash plates on their way, next mod has to be rear steel bumper
I know the farm gate on the front of my Patrol looks horrible but off road the towbar is giving me grief.
Later I might want to add spare wheel carrier etc but for now just a simple steel rear bumper including tow bar.
Suggestions please!

Re: New here Advice on new Patrol
I must say, I’ve never had an issue with my toe bars catching on anything.
Anyway, it seems the rear bumper to go for is a bzt one. I think a couple of the guys here have those on.
On other mods, put your wish list out here, you’ll more than likely find good priced used stuff floating around

There is a big difference in price depending on whether all the upgrades you want are Frontrunner (or similar) branded, or independently manufactured by a small local business.Mal Hannes wrote: ↑16 Oct 2020 14:31 Hi all Zerubabel is turning out to be a very expensive vehicle

Re: New here Advice on new Patrol
Thank you for comments
My dreams for the conversion of Zerubabel.
1 Radio done for safety while on the phone. Still need a new aerial.
2 Bash plates. On the way. Gives confidence
3 Rear steel Bumper get rid of plow
4 Front steel Bumper and rock sliders
5 Suspension for comfortable gravel travel and small lift
6 Mud Terrain 33 s or close to that
7 Whinch
8 Awning
9 Turbo - because.
Then things like vhf radio and extra battery might still happen.
It won't happen over night but this is the dream

Re: New here Advice on new Patrol
Hi Hannes,
I had a BZT rear bumper without the swing arm fitted a week ago. The lights in the bumper are LED's.
Bumper comes with the tow-bar, just had to use my tow-bar ball.
Summit 4x4 webpage has the specific part no for the Patrol.
Only thing is the fitment company had to put a spacer on the spare wheel carrier on the right rear door as the wheel was touching the bumper. It gives the Patrol a rugged rear look now.
Trust this will be useful.
