Hi Klaus.
When my Subaru, especially, does the sqealing around corners, I have my wheel alignment checked and it invariably goes away.
My Patrol is also doing it of late so I will also go check the wheel alignment and see the result.
I will let you know, because it is particularly noisy around the round abouts here so I know where to double check it.
Get back to you soon.
Vanessa

Re: Squeaking tyres
If you apply enough throttle, you can cause the squealing to move from the front wheels to the rear wheels...

Re: Squeaking tyres
My experience with BFG 's. , keep in mind my this is the 2nd set on my Patrol, is that mine start squealing when they are nearing replacement time ( that's my story and I'm sticking to it) . I've started noticing it on the 2nd set now, the 1st did the same. Start squealing in town on fairly smooth tar when braking and turning. Sounds like I'm never gonna stop in time and get the beady eye from pedestrians.

Re: Squeaking tyres
Dont think a n a 4.2 can sqeak from power on the wheels . I would look at the date stamp on the rubber if older than 5 years you either need to live with it or replace.

Re: Squeaking tyres
Check tyre pressure.
If you have a slow leak ( even if it doesnt look flat), it can squeak and squeal , particularly when pulling away or turning in a circle (roundabout). And ja, my 4.2d will squeak a tyre (Thinus)
