Eventually here! - Marius Bijker
I've met some of you at various Patrol events / functions in the last number of years. I drove (still in my yard though) Slakkie, a 1998 Land Cruiser Prado with 2.8D (na) engine and was quite happy.
Tinus has been trying to bring me to the dark side, but my lists of requirements were hard to meet. Diesel, manual, good consumption, use it as a daily drive as well as doing 4x4ing, caravaning and then be able to adjust / improve without feeling guilty did not make it an easy sell.
I bought a 1999 Patrol 4x4 GL via Tinus from Dawie van Rensburg (memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=4287) - some history on the car here: viewtopic.php?t=8645&sid=c294458b645682 ... 6d80a248c8
The car has done 220k kms, has the 4.2TD engine with all SOJO's mods. Car is in extremely good condition - especially mechanically with turbo, but entire car has been taken care with so much detail and did everything the way it should be done.
The following has been done by Michael - TD42 engine, Front mount cooler, sojo inlet manifold, boost aneroid, Many other items like 2" OME lift , with Billstein B8's
I've already added / changed the following : 2nd tank (Thanks to Tinus and Henk for organizing this), a lot of electrical work (Thanks Anthony) including amp, sub tank sensors and switches, diff-lock check, manual hub locks, Brad Harrison connectors front and back. Also added an TPMS and oil sensor on madman.
Still on the list: Snorkel, Peter Connan's accessories (fortunately he is one of my friends), New 2nd battery (car already has dual battery system) and maybe a drawer system.
Will post photos and detail's later, just wanted to checkin and say
