Kobus,

A recomendation. I use a Steca digital regulator that gives me a onscreen display that informs me of what the pannel is pushing into the battery and what I am consuming.

Thanks for the enquiry. Prices are:
100 watt - R 4,800
160 watt - R 5,800

These include all components and connectors as well as VAT and delivery anywhere in SA.

The Steca range of regulators are, in my opinion, the best, with the PR 2020 giving you all the info you need. However once one has done the checks a few times it gets quite boring and the price seems more than you need to have paid. I run all the lighting and recharge my cordless tools from 4 x 50 watt panels, PR 2020 regulator and 2 x 105 amp deep cycle batteries. I hardly bother looking at the regulator any more.
The PRS range is excellent, without the LCD display, and you will not need a bigger one than the 1010 (10 amp/hr) given that your panel is 80 watt. This produces a maximum current of about 4.7 amps and therefore a 10 amp regulator is fine. The bottom of the Steca range is the Solsum F and this is also available in 6, 8 and 10 amps. They also are excellent.
Hope this is of use. I supply OW with another range of folding panels and specify them with PRS regulators, having recently changed from TES.
