SA Luxury vehicle sales - Wheels 24

Post by mvcoller »

The Toyota Land Cruiser 200 went top of the large luxury SUV category after staking a solid claim over its rivals.

Despite a tough economic environment, the big Toy sold 89 units in February 2020. It was followed by the Range Rover/RR Sport on 70 units. Another Toyota, the Prado, went third on 58 units sold.

In fourth place is the Land Rover Discovery. The brawny SUV did good with 51 units sold to put it clear of the Audi Q7 on 36 units.

The Range Rover Velar sold 26 units, just edging out the Volkswagen Touareg (22 units) and Jaguar F-Pace (20 units). Volvo’s XC90 sold 15 units, while the Jeep Grand Cherokee rounds out the top ten on 13 units.

Naamsa says: "New vehicle sales continue to mirror the deteriorating economic outlook in the country. The impact of the coronavirus outbreak and potential to affect supply chains and disrupt manufacturing operations around the world are increasing daily and developments are monitored closely."

That means Nissan SA failed dismally again, they did not even sell 13 Patrols!! Even beaten by a Jeep Cherokee - For goodness's sake, how do you try to save a brand with such a pathetic sales effort....

There may be a spin off for us current Patrol owners, with such poor sales figures, as the older Patrols die off, our models will become sought after collector's items.... :blonde:

So look after and cherish your wagons and trucks guys!
