Nano-diamond self-charging batteries could disrupt energy as we know it

Post by mvcoller »

Wow, I wonder when this will be ready for market and be on sale locally?
No longer those heavy, expensive lead acid batteries, special charging systems and solar panels for our camping rigs.
Could this be on the horizon in the near future?....

"The heart of each cell is a small piece of recycled nuclear waste. NDB uses graphite nuclear reactor parts that have absorbed radiation from nuclear fuel rods and have themselves become radioactive. Untreated, it's high-grade nuclear waste: dangerous, difficult and expensive to store, with a very long half-life."

I think I prefer my heavy battery and solar panel...

I know there is a lot of talk about it being encased into a super safe whatever encasing, but not for me thanks. Lest we all become little camping Chernobyls. :rolling:
